Caterpillar D10 于1977年发布，是第一款采用高驱动链轮的推土机。这一设计可以提供更强大的驱动机制而带来相对不明显的轨道磨损。在1978到1986年间大约一千台在美国被制造出来。
最初重量约82吨，后续版本有所增加。在当时是世界上最大的拖拉机。
